GATOR BAIT MTB RACE

  

Gator Bait MTB Race- “Fun Raiser” for Ridge Riders MTB Association at Carter Road is Sunday August 20th, 2023 9:00AM. 

The race is either 30 or 60 miles (10 mile course) with solo and team relay options available. Teams may consist of up to 3 riders and will be doing the 60 mile race

Registration closes at 9:00pm on Friday August 18th, 2023.

WE WILL NOT ALLOW DAY OF REGISTRATIONS SO IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO REGISTER ONLINE.

Race course will be available to pre ride all day on Friday and Saturday before the race. 

No pre rides on the day of the race.

Racer meeting at 8:15am

60 mile race starts at 9:00am 

30 mile race starts at 9:15am 

The start of the 9am and 9:15 race will be in a potato sack. Each rider will hop in their sack approximately 30-40' then run/jog/walk another 30-40' to their bike that was placed in the staging lane. For teams, only the team rider starting the first lap will do this, all other laps will be a regular lap. This will only occur for the first lap at the very start. Should you not desire to hop in the bag you can wait on the start line until EVERYONE is out of their bag and then you can run (jog/walk) directly to your bike.  

Top 3 finishers receive medals and podium. For the team categories, each team member will be awarded if placing first through third place.

Class designation is the last class you raced in during the past 2 years. Sport team no more than one Expert member. Base (Intermediate) team no more than one Sport member. Co-Ed teams must have one female and the Amateur Co-Ed no more than one Sport Member. Race age is your age on Dec 31, 2023. For teams each rider MUST do 2 laps (3 laps if only a 2 person team), these laps can be raced in any order that the teams choose however the laps must be split equally between the riders on the team. Medals will be awarded to the top three riders of every category. For the team categories, each team member will be awarded if placing first through third place.

We will have 2 designated group rides for the youth 12 and under starting at 11am. The times will be 11am and 1pm. The group will ride Ivy, Poison Ivy and Sprinkler Hill then return back. There is no fee for this and the group will have a leader and a sweeper to ensure the kids stay together. 

Please remember that Loyce E. Harpe Park is a designated FEMA collection site and if for some reason the park is needed the race will have to be rescheduled.

Want to be a part of the excitement but not ready to race it? Please consider volunteering and help us raise funds for the trails and equipment. We ABSOLUTELY know that without VOLUNTEERS we have NOTHING! It takes an army to pull off a smooth event and we are looking to you for help.

IT IS OUR PROMISE TO YOU that you will have hydration, food and even shade! We hope to have enough volunteers to rotate everyone so that you are not in one area for too long.
